Founded by Mr. Randy Penn, envirochex provides investigation, testing, and consulting services relating to healthy indoor environments.  Capitalizing on over 35 years experience in engineering, construction, & program management, Randy has directed hundreds of projects in consumer, commercial, industrial and government domains. 

Mr. Penn's career has spanned research laboratory, corporate office and job-site settings to provide a well-seasoned, comprehensive background.  He has worked in a broad range of surroundings including crawlspaces & tunnels; high rise structures; secure computer facilities; power plants; refineries & chemical plants; coal mines; automotive & aerospace factories; lumber & steel mills; shipyards; military bases; rocket launch sites; and all types of residential properties from mobile homes to multi-million dollar estates.

Recognized for focused assessments, innovative thinking and practical problem solving, Randy blends scientific principles, logic and applied experience to produce authoritative results.  Qualifications include:

Project work experience has encompassed a wide range of disciplines including:

  • Hundreds of system/facility inspections

  • Design and directing laboratory and field testing programs

  • Thousands of data series recovered and analyzed

  • National Standards Committee consulting

  • Authoring proposals, specifications and guidelines

  • Design & development of remediation protocols

  • Development of environmental Best Management Practices

  • Co-authoring a comprehensive emergency & disaster planning guide

  • Participating in technical reviews of Texas mold regulation development

  • Recovery of forensic evidence & litigation support

  • Serving as Instructor & Guest Lecturer at numerous seminars

Randy has invested thousands of hours of independent study into various contaminants and applies his experience towards identifying conditions conducive to indoor environmental problems.  He continues to expand his knowledge base through education programs, journal reviews and research.
